That's cheeky! Man makes a nude calendar for his girlfriend's birthday – and is now inundated with #nakedinnature snaps

An Aussie who created a joke nude calendar for his girlfriend is now sent hundreds of naked snaps weekly after launching a cheeky social media bum-baring craze.

Brendan Jones, 27, and his friends regularly pose for barely-there snaps while out hiking – and their body positivity stunts have racked up thousands of fans and imitators.

The healthcare professional, from Sydney, is now inundated with up to 20 photos of scantily clad walkers posing in front of stunning Australian landscapes every single day.

'Get Naked Australia started from what was a bit of a joke for my fiancée,' Brendan said.

'I wanted to get her a funny present so thought it would be hilarious to stand on a mountain naked and have a picture taken.

'I got together 12 images and made them into a calendar for her Christmas present at the end of 2015.

'A couple of mates said I should put the photos on Instagram and in June 2016 the page was born.

'We started using the hashtag #nakedinnature and within weeks people were saying how much they loved the idea and were asking if they could submit their photos.

'Now I get 20 emails a day from people wanting to be featured. I never expected it to become this big – it was meant to be a bit of fun but has had an amazing impact.'

Brendan launched Instagram account Get Naked Australia in June 2016 after he posed for 12 nude snaps for a tongue-in-cheek calendar for his fiancée's Christmas present in 2015.

He now uses the profile and his new Get Naked Australia website as a platform for Aussies from all over the country to share their best nude posing.

Brendan is inundated with up to 20 emails a day from people wanting to get involved in the craze and sharing the photos, and his page has more than 200,000 followers.

It shares stunning snaps of hikers from all shapes and sizes and all walks of life – including teachers and doctors – posing in the buff in front of mountains, waterfalls and beaches.

The 27-year-old said the craze has also been praised by individuals with low self-esteem and body image worries who say it makes them feel confident in their own skin.

Brendan said: 'Get Naked Australia was never originally intended to be a body positivity movement, but people started telling us how much it had helped them step out of their comfort zone.

'The whole nudity thing is seen as such a big deal. Everyone is so uptight and embarrassed, we all think 'no one can see me naked'.

'If it is helping people with their body issues and to step out of their comfort zones then that can only be a good thing.

'It's also a chance for people to get outside and see some of the amazing locations Australia has to offer.

'Our society is so mediated – the only naked bodies we see apart from our partners or families are ones on TV and in the media and they are not accurate representations of real bodies.
