Shocking pictures show elderly hoarder's home where three skips worth of rotting rubbish were piled as high as the CEILING

Horrifying images from inside a the home of a hoarder show mountains of rubbish piled almost to the ceiling.

The pictures were taken inside the semi-detached house in Maghull, Merseyside, and show rooms brimming with bin bags and waste.

The shocking amount of waste was strewn from the living room to the bathroom, leaving the property resembling more of a landfill site than a home.

'It must be my biggest challenge and proudest achievement,' said Paul Oldfield, owner of Waterloo-based Spotless Cleaners.

The expert sanitisers were called in to make the home habitable again after its elderly owner died.

'We were approached by a relative of an elderly lady who had been caring for her husband who was suffering from bowel cancer and lived in an upstairs bedroom,' Mr Oldfield added.

'The husband had died and his wife, who passed away recently, went to stay with a relative while we did the cleaning.'

The crack cleaners were horrified to discover that the inside of the house resembled more of a landfill site than a person's home.

The sheer volume of rubbish made it initially impossible for the cleaners to walk through several rooms.

Mr Oldfield added: 'We came up with a plan of action, which included clearing all the rubbish - we filled three large skips - and giving the house a deep clean.

‘It all took us five days and we knew we had done a good job because there were tears in the eyes of the customer when we had finished.'

Astonishingly, the expert cleaners managed to completely transform the rubbish-filled house into a clean and liveable home again.
