'Hey, put away your camera' Irish tourist caught urinating in the street in Croatian resort just weeks after mayor warned that drunk revellers were 'out of control'

The reputation of British and Irish tourists has taken a further blow after a young woman was filmed with her shorts around her knees allegedly urinating outside a bar.

The video was shot by an eyewitness with a smartphone on the Croatian island of Hvar in the Adriatic Sea.

The holiday destination has long been a playground for the rich and famous, attracting famous visitors such as Prince Harry, Tom Cruise, Beyonce and Bono.

But officials have become increasingly concerned about the behaviour of young tourists who are attracted to Hvar by its reputation as a party island.

The short clip shows a young blonde woman standing with her shorts around her knees outside a bar.

Local media reports she had just urinated on the ground and a large puddle can be seen in the video.

The woman is seen with two friends, one has a drink in her hand and more drinkers can be seen in the background.

The trio suddenly realise they are being filmed and angrily confront the camerawoman.

One of the woman's friends, who seems to have a British or Irish accent, shouts: 'Hey put away your f***ing camera! F*** off!'

As the clip continues a second woman turns around and puts up her hand towards the camera to prevent her from filming her friend.

It is the latest in a series of incidents involving British and Irish tourists that have offended residents of Hvar which is famous for its 13th century walls, its marbled streets and its beautiful harbour.

Officials placed warning signs are Hvar earlier this month warning tourists that they will face the full force of the law if they continue to misbehave.

Authorities have blasted drunken Brits and Irish for 'throwing up, weeing and fighting' in the streets across the holiday destination.

The signs warn tourists caught drunk in public spaces will face a fine of £600.

Visitors who walk around the town's historic centre in swimsuits will be fined £500 while those strolling around topless will have to pay £440.

The sign says in English: 'Save your money and enjoy Hvar.'

New mayor Rikardo Novak launched the crackdown on public nudity, drunken behaviour and peeing on streets two weeks ago.

He complained: 'They throw up across the city streets, they pee on every corner, they walk without T-shirts, they sleep on the streets, in public spaces, they make noise and they are out of control.

'They may walk naked without T-shirts on other parts of the coast, but not in Hvar. That will no longer be tolerated.
